Staging

The proper placement of show cages for training and judging. "A" bird is on the top left, "B" bird is bottom left, "C" is on top right and "D" is in the bottom right position. A solid divider is placed between the 2 stacked cages to block the canaries view of each other. A solid piece of wood or cardboard is also placed on top of the "A" and "C" cages to block any distractions from above. These cages are then placed on a table approximately 40" from the judge.. |

The proper placement of perches. The perch next to the seed and water cup is placed on the 3rd wire from the left. This is critical so the canaries can reach their seed and water. The other perch is placed on the 7th wire from the right. |

Position of Water and Seed Cups The water cup is placed on the left and seed cup on the right. Filling the cups 3/4th full is adequate. The canary quickly learns where his water and food are located. In time, he can find it in complete darkness. |
