Sebastian Vallelunga's Bird Room

Sebastian's bird room is located in No. California. The structure measures 24' long by 4' wide. It has 3 sections 8' long with the middle section used as a night shelter. Included is a mixed selection of finches, some parakeets and in the past a few softbill's. The large water bottles you see are dog sized Lixit water bottles. Sebastian lives in a very temperate part of California so heat and cold do not affect his outdoor water bottles.

When asked what brand of breeding cage you use? Sebastian commented; the cheap white cages you buy on eBay. He uses 9 double breeders for his waterslagers. He devotes about 200 sq. ft to his breeding room and another 30 sq. ft to his flight area.

Sebastian has been raising canaries for 25 years and waterslagers for 5 years. He expects to raise 20+ waterslager this year from 4 males and 6 hens. He also raised 12 rollers and 40 timbrados. He mentioned getting off to a slow start this year and wanted to raise 30 waterslagers.

Sebastian got started in birds when his father gave him some ornamental pigeons and bantams to raise when he was very young.
